Answers to common questions about SANHWE, visiting us, gift cards, and getting in touch.
Our lab is based in Sakumono Estate, Tema Ghana, where our fragrances are imagined, developed, and crafted.
Our laboratory is not currently open for general visits. However, you’re welcome to experience our work through our perfume-making experiences, workshops, and scheduled appointments. If you have a specific reason for visiting the lab, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss whether a visit can be arranged.
As SANHWE continues to grow, we’re also working towards creating a dedicated space where visitors can explore our fragrances and connect with the brand.
Our working hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays, 9am to 4pm.

We are a Ghanaian botanical fragrance house creating soulful fragrances rooted in nature, inspired by Africa, and crafted with intention. We work with thoughtfully selected botanicals from Africa and around the world to create scents that unfold slowly, tell meaningful stories, and invite you to experience fragrance beyond the ordinary. Every bottle is an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and discover the beauty hidden in Africa.
Many of the botanicals we work with are seasonal, naturally low-yielding, or sourced from small-scale producers.Rather than asking nature to produce more than it can generously offer, we create in small batches, allowing us to preserve the integrity of our ingredients while maintaining the craftsmanship behind every fragrance..
Yes. Our fragrances are designed to be gender-neutral, allowing everyone to experience and wear them in a way that feels personal. However, because we work extensively with natural botanical ingredients, we recommend performing a patch test before first use, particularly if you have sensitive skin or known allergies.
Longevity varies depending on the fragrance, your skin chemistry, application, and environment. Our perfume oils are designed to wear close to the skin and unfold gradually throughout the day, creating an intimate scent experience rather than overwhelming projection.
Natural and synthetic (conventional) fragrances perform differently, but longer-lasting doesn’t always mean better. The longevity of any fragrance depends on its ingredients, concentration, your skin chemistry, application, and environment. While some botanical ingredients naturally have excellent longevity, others are more delicate and evolve more gently. Rather than overpowering a room, many natural perfumes are designed to create a more intimate scent experience that unfolds beautifully over time.
We believe fragrance should accompany life’s everyday moments. Our 12 ml bottles are intentionally designed to be portable, encouraging you to carry your signature scent wherever you go and reapply as it evolves naturally throughout the day.
Our scents are crafted primarily with delicate botanical ingredients that are naturally sensitive to light. Our opaque bottles help protect the fragrance from UV exposure, preserving its character, integrity, and longevity while allowing it to mature beautifully over time.
We never test our fragrances on animals. Most SANHWE fragrances are vegan, but some formulations may contain carefully selected animal-derived ingredients such as butter or beeswax where they serve a specific creative purpose. Whenever this applies, it will be clearly stated on the individual product page.

Yes, they could and that’s one of the beautiful characteristics of natural perfumery. Every SANHWE fragrance is crafted with essential oils, absolutes, CO₂ extracts, and other thoughtfully selected botanical ingredients. Because these materials come directly from nature, no two harvests are exactly alike. Also, slight variations in colour, aroma, or the presence of natural sediment may occur from batch to batch or over time. These natural changes do not affect the quality or performance of your fragrance.
Nature is wonderfully consistent in character, but never identical. Because we work with botanical ingredients harvested from different seasons, regions, and growing conditions, subtle variations in aroma, colour, or appearance may occur from one batch to another. These natural differences are a hallmark of authentic botanical perfumery and reflect the living ingredients within each fragrance, not a flaw in quality.
Natural fragrances are crafted primarily from botanical ingredients such as essential oils, absolutes, concretes and plant extracts, while conventional fragrances are created primarily with aroma molecules manufactured in the lab. Botanical fragrances celebrate the richness and natural variation of plant materials, whereas conventional fragrances offer greater consistency, longevity and creative flexibility. At SANHWE, we create both, but our passion is rooted in botanical perfumery.
Questions about local and international deliveries.
We currently ship within Ghana and we are working to ship to international destinations. If your destination or country isn’t available at checkout, please contact us and we’ll do our best to assist.
Orders are typically processed within 1–5 business days. Delivery times vary depending on your location and shipping method. Custom fragrances, alcohol-based perfumes, and made-to-order items may require additional production time.
Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email or whatsapp message with tracking details where available.
International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by your country’s authorities. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.
If your order has not yet entered production or been dispatched, we’ll do our best to accommodate changes but not cancellations. Please contact us as soon as possible after placing your order.
Information on returns, exchanges, damaged items, and order issues.
Due to the personal nature of fragrance products, we do not accept returns on opened items unless they arrive incorrect or damaged.
Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photographs of the damaged item and packaging. We’ll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
We’re sorry! If you receive an incorrect item (different from what you ordered), please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we’ll arrange a replacement or appropriate resolution.

Depending on the package chosen, you will be guided through the art of fragrance, exploring ingredients, blending techniques and scent families before creating your own personalised fragrance to take home. Every experience is designed to be immersive, educational, and memorable.
Not at all. Our experiences are designed for complete beginners as well as fragrance enthusiasts.
The duration depends on the experience you’ve booked. Most workshops last between 2 and 4 hours, while private and bespoke experiences may vary.
Yes. We offer private sessions for individuals, couples, families, and small groups. Contact us to discuss your preferred date and experience.
Participants must be at least 12 years old. Guests under 17 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian where appropriate.
Absolutely. We offer fragrance experiences for corporate events, brand activations, weddings, birthdays, private celebrations, and more.
Bookings may be rescheduled or cancelled according to the terms and conditions outlined at the time of booking. Please contact us as early as possible if your plans change.

Every project begins with a consultation to understand your goals. From there, we develop fragrance concepts, create samples for review, refine the formulation based on feedback, and move into production once the final fragrance is approved.
There is no minimum order for fragrance development. Production minimums vary depending on the product type, packaging, and manufacturing requirements.
